The Hong Kong Prize – Global Inspirations

The winner of this year’s hk prize is the Hong Kong Philarmonic Orchestra (HK Phil), a prestigious award which recognises the best classical music ensemble in the world. This is the first time an Asian orchestra has won this coveted accolade, also known as the “Oscars of classical music”, which honours recordings that achieve the highest artistic standards and excellence in performance. The HK Phil is honoured to receive this prestigious prize, and extends its heartfelt thanks to the Hong Kong SAR Government, Principal Patron the Swire Group and music-lovers all over the world for their support.

Despite the tumultuous political situation in Hong Kong, the pro-democracy campaigners’ courageous stand against Beijing has inspired a wide range of people around the world. Now US lawmakers from both parties have nominated the activists for a Nobel peace prize, calling them “global inspirations” in face of a crackdown by the Chinese regime. Their efforts are “a demonstration that the rule of law and democracy are universal values, which should be cherished by all people”, according to the letter signed by nine lawmakers from both sides of the aisle.

Athletes competing at the hk prize are not only rewarded with the prestige and glory of medals, but also substantial prize money, which is up to a whopping HK$12m for gold, HK$6m for silver, and HK$3m for bronze. This money has been instrumental in attracting top talent to Hong Kong, and making our athletes more competitive. In addition, team events offer higher payouts than individual events, with a medal in the men’s team 10m race fetching a prize of HK$5m.

For HK-based artists, the hk prize offers an international platform to showcase their work and gain wider exposure. It is also a great opportunity for young artists to build a network and connect with a bigger audience. It has attracted a lot of attention from the global art community and has become one of the most respected awards in Asia.

The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize has been a driving force in promoting Hong Kong’s scientific research. By identifying and celebrating the outstanding achievements of Hong Kong’s scientists in various fields, the Prize is helping to boost Hong Kong’s scientific capability and serve the country and the world. The Prize will continue to attract global top science talent, nurture forward-looking scientists and build Hong Kong into an international science and technology hub.
