Sidney Pools
With Sydney’s outdoor lifestyle and the amount of sun we get year round having a pool is a must for local residents. A backyard pool is not only a fun way to spend your time, it also opens the door for hosting family and friends. Pools are great for parties and barbeques and with the right design they can become the focal point of your yard.
The City of Sidney is home to six outstanding aquatic centres. Each one offers something unique for all ages and abilities. These pools are a part of our community and open to everyone in the area. They are modern facilities with a lot of features to offer swimmers. Each of the pools has its own special perks that set it apart from other public swimming pools.
Sidney’s main pool is an eight lane lap pool with a kids zone that has a number of waterspouts and slides for young swimmers to enjoy. There are plenty of lounge chairs and grass areas for patrons to sunbathe and relax if they get tired of swimming. There are also a couple of floating pontoons that make for a nice respite from your swim or a spot to imagine yourself in a summery coming-of-age movie.
A lifeguard is on duty at all times. Only recognised approved swimwear and a rash vest are allowed in the water. Infants may be allowed in the water only when they are wearing a swim waterproof nappy and are being actively supervised by a person 16 years or older at all times.
The Bronte Baths are a popular pool for anyone looking to fit a walk and a swim into the same day. Located at the end of the famous Bondi to Bronte coastal walk the baths have been around since 1887 and still attract both locals and visitors alike. The tucked away gem sits among the cliffs and park and is a great spot to hang out on the rocks, warming up like a lizard or float along the edge of the pool as you look out at one of Sydney’s most beautiful beaches.
Ocean pools are man-made public seawater pools situated on a surf coast so that the waves wash over the sides. Sydney is believed to have more ocean pools than any other city in the world, with a total of 35 of them scattered throughout the suburbs. Each has its own charm and draws on-lookers from all walks of life, but there is something magical about the Bronte Baths. Sitting at the bottom of a stunning beach, this little oasis is perfect for everyone, from the serious swimmer to the non-swimmer who simply wants to float and stare at the beautiful cliffs and sea views. Unlike other pools at the beach, Bronte Baths isn’t full of churning jet skis or loud music. This quiet place is a welcome escape from the hurried and hectic pace of daily life.
