Top Prize in Horse Racing to Rise by 8 Per Cent Next Season
The top prize in the world of horse racing will rise by 8 per cent next season with HK$1.38 billion on offer across all classes including the seven elite contests at Longines Hong Kong International Races, FWD Champions Day and Group races. Hong Kong Jockey Club will also boost prize money for the four-year-old Classic Series with HK$94 million added to the overall figure.

HKUST physicists have won the 2024 Future Science Prize for their groundbreaking work on particle physics, especially developing advanced data analysis techniques and exploring nature at the smallest distances and most extreme conditions, all of which are part of a global research effort at the LHC, the Large Hadron Collider. This is the second time that a team from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has won the prize.
